Avocado Profile
Avocado is an evergreen tree native to the Americas. Avocado oil is very nourishing to the skin and is known to contain vitamins A, B, C and E - and especially large amounts of Vitamin D and potassium. The oil is used extensively in cosmetics.

Also Known As Abokado, Aguacate, Ahuacate, Alligator Pear, Avocat, Avocato, Palto
Practical Uses Skin care; moisturizing, removes impurities from the skin. Topically, avocado oil is applied to soothe and heal skin, treat sclerosis of the skin, pyorrhea, and arthritis. In combination with vitamin B12, avocado oil is used for psoriasis. The carrier/base oil is used to dilute essential oils in aromatherapy for use in massage and other formulations.

Cautions Orally, allergic cross-sensitivity may be seen in latex-sensitive individuals. Topically, avocado oil in combination with vitamin B12 cream can cause itching when initially applied, but appears to diminish with continued use. |
